L322 Vinyl wrap for leaking sunroof

So I had another look at the roof today. The silicone I've put on the roof looks untidy but I can't see anywhere that water could be getting through, only other place I could think of is windscreen seal. I've run a bead of sealant underneath the rubber strip to see if that cures it

I most certainly don't advocate punching tits, but in this instance i'll hold your jacket.. which one you elect to do first is your choice but for me it would be da bizness owna,
that way you get to watch the other tool run away clutching his party bag!!
ya get me bro?

Wammers l@@k, no fingers, lol ,

'mazing what you stumble upon on the tube, I only typed in 'silicone fails' and this popped up>
I laughed my, er, you know whats off when I seen his:p

Shaped Pork Approximating Man!!!!!

no no.
you need to fix the leak.
not put a barrier in place.
the roof and sunroof interface is designed to leak and the water escapes through tubes normally.
you probably have blocked tubes....nothing else.
your appoach to fixing this is all wrong.

sorry to be so blunt...but i have history doing something similar many years ago..
best wishes

I take it that post has been removed then ?
Good work !
Yep and I've edited my post now to remove the mention of the spam in mine :)
I didnthink of quoting you and Alan in, as I thought with a name like that he might have some nice dresses but then thought 'spamming twunt' and didn't bother :-D

I'm good Andy. Santa has come and gone, typical man! I have reports from the island of sun that loud squeals, possibly of delight? Were heard coming from Alan's cell so I reckon your gift arrived ; ) How are things in the house of @holidaychicken ?

it's not only a panda that eats shoots and leaves then ??
I am sure Alan with be delighted.

How's things with you ?

i am ok, I am currently waiting on my compression testing equipment to turn up as i think i have lost me head gaskets when my top hose blew off as i think i have water in my oil..........:(

:( Oh no! I thought I was unlucky with the Golden Girl. What the heck have you been doing to your poor beastie. I thought when you said she'd been recovered, you were still referring to the incident before but I obviously missed one of your adventures. I only wish I could offer more in the way of assistance, than shoulder to sob on and some nice dresses to try on. Could offer you some nice MTP kit or a bergan or two but with your tastes I know the dresses would assuage your hurting soul more ;)

That is very kind, i think it is related to the top hose blowing apart which is when i had it recovered and i have a feeling the head gaskets took a hit although the temp gauge didnt move and i stopped straight away but i have light and dark brown oil...:(
Very kind offer on the MTP, i have cupboard full of CS95 kit including two bergans, one being a lovely long back number, but you mentioned some dresses ..... ;)

Get some chip board and cover it up, if you want it to look better, paint it... "doesn't work" yea, so why bother to fix it right? what an attitude, if you cant be bothered neither can I.... bye..
Good old corrugated iron sheeting should cover all silicone errors and give a nice sound when raining ;O)

Ah right, I did miss that bit. Are you sure I can't interest you in the MTP? Between it, the DPM , Desert DPM, FAD, Mess Dress , and lots of other bits and pieces, I'm sure we could run you up a couple of nice dresses :D Oddly enough on the long back comment. I find the normal one more comfortable for tabbing/patrol and only used the long back for less active roles. Not sure why I prefer it, might be a centre of gravity thing or due to the shoulder injuries, perhaps it doesn't pull down on them as much?? I'm sure some boffin somewhere would know the answer.

I think we may have gone off track slightly.

I think I will start another thread once i have done my engine tests, might even be a For Sale thread....

I think we may have gone of track slightly !!
Tabbing, that's like Yomping only slower and with less weight carried isn't it :p

+1
I don't think I've ever read such irrelevant & totally boring off-topic submissions on this forum. I don't encourage 'bodges' either but in this case, if the roof is never likely to be used, then the funds needed by the OP to repair it could be better directed to the rectifications of more important issues, such as safety related items.

I believe so, but I'm led to believe the Andrew goes for more strenuous activity, they find little secluded areas on the Rockport Walk and get a little sweaty. ;)
