Ok so I have found the photo's on my PC they were among the 4750 I have , when I did mine I sourced a spare top hose, I got that prepared so I could fit it right away, just to sane on time of fitting the inline stat to the hose on the day, which to be honest doe's not take more than 5 minutes.
here a few snap shots of what you need to do remembering my FL1 was a manual, you need to remove the air intake from the engine, along with the hose that fits to the EGR, then remove the manifold and EGR in one piece, this will give you the access you need to cut/file through the metal band holding the top hose to the engine Y piece.
Cover up any electrics below the hose alternator etc, have a funnel fitting into a bottle/ or a plastic tray ready to catch the coolant you will lose, once you have the top hose off fit the gates thermostat, refitting is reverse of removal, top up the coolant tank run car on tick over and bleed is you need to, I will try and do a full write up with photo's later today.
