Vibration

The last two days I've noticed strong vibrations when I come to a stop. It only happens when I've actually stopped with foot still on brake pedal and still in drive (at junctions/traffic lights) If I engage neutral the vibrations stop.

There is no loss of power, gears change very smoothly, and engine is very quiet.

Any ideas what is causing this?

Possibly torque converter faulty,hope its not though for your wallets sake!

It's under warranty. The only way to describe, it's like it's slightly revving higher and wants to go when stopped but not if that makes sense.

How would you know if its what you say without changing it?

Update: Took disco to garage. The mechanic test drove it and stated nothing wrong with vehicle. Vibration is normal and not excessive at all. Gears change smoothly, no loss of power on flat or on hills. Mechanic will check underneath at weekend when it's booked in for a service. If it was torque converter the mechanic said I would feel slip, knocking in gear box and loss of power in engine.

After driving defender and hearing every sound there possible is, I guess I'm getting use to driving in a quiet car, any slight noise I hear my ears prick up!

Thats good news if your man thinks its ok,can't say I've ever noticed it though in the ones that I have driven.

Would it be worth getting an oil change in the auto box? I dont think it's ever been done prior to me buying it. It's done 78K on a 2005 plate, belts changed last year.

Ok update: juddering has got more noticeable, and have had one slip where the revs shot to 4000 when turning into bend on acceleration then back to normal.

Is this the clutch that needs changing.
