vibration problems

can anyone help, i have a serious vibration through the gear stick, moving backwards and forwards, and side to side gets worse when accelerating.when i stop accelerating it stops, only happens when engine has warmed up please help:doh:
 
had the same prob with mine...drive shaft grab hold of it and shake the hell out of it if it nocks or bangs there is your answer. but cheak both sides..if nothing there get along pole ie crow bar on the mounting parts and check for movement
 
thanks bobo 490 i will try that tomorrow, keep you informed, its actually my dads car and hes panicking like hell, just spent £1500 on new clutch cant afford another wacking big bill
 
If there is play in the mounts don't worry because they are all relatively cheap and easy to replace.

If it's not the propshaft but the front driveshaft, again it is not too big a job - just had the o/s/f driveshaft replaced by a local garage and it didn't break the bank.
