The doors were damaged on my 99 p38 so had them replaced last week, the wiring in the front was slightly different so basically cut the wires which were different and now when in reverse the N/S mirror goes up instead of down when reversing, any ideas? Also the rear was the same wiring but when the speaker was connected when the radio was on it made a fuzzing noise, more so when revved. I only realised this when the battery went flat and when i put it on charge it was making the noise without the radio or even ignition on. Any ideas why it is doing that? I have now dissconected the speaker and the battery seems to be holding charge although i cant start it as the engine is now immobolized and i cant put the code in as the door lock is broke so need to have a look to see why its not working but any ideas on the other faults would be great

sound like mirror wires reversed, the rest pass, look at old loom

Ive got rid of old doors now and its a pulg with about 9 wires connected to wing mirror, thanks

The doors you bought were a different trim level to the orginal ones.So now you will have to sort out the wiring.
The rear amplifier/speaker may simply be U/S.Which accounts for the noise with the radio off.

The bleeding mirrors have got minds of their own!

My n/s started doing that a while ago. Then it suddenly started behaving itself again. Now it dips correctly, but doesn't come back up again. Drivers side is fine. I reckon it's possessed.

Seriously though, I think (on mine, anyway) that it seemed to depend on how far the mirror arm is extended. If I extend it out too far then the mirror starts going up instead of down. No idea why - perhaps the wiring is getting snagged.
