L322 Venture cam, not connecting

Hello all

On Our recent purchase of an l322 range rover, we found the infamous venture cam, but every time we have tried to use it nothing happens

It plugs in shows it's docked and charging lets us delete and learn camera but as soon as "use now " is clicked it displays the message below.

( I removed the cover to check the inside for corrosion)
Any help much appreciated

Probably has a knackered battery. Does the torch function work on it?
Still not a real test as that's only powering the LEDs I suspect.

Yes the red lights do work and stay lit , how ever the charging display constantly shows it with no battery and never gets full.

Once you get it working you'll only put it back in the holder and forget about it till mot time when you can point it at the car to check the lights.

We intend to use it as a reversing camera so it will be used.

Might be a bit inconvenient having to take it out of the charging pod everytime you want to reverse

There is bound to be a way to rig up a charging setup in the boot .

The camera won't turn on while charging.

Cheaper and better to buy and install a wolfbox front rear dash cam that's also a reversing camera.
Got them in all of mine now

Does it auto-dim depending on headlights behind like the P38 mirror ?
