VDO Tacho settings.

I’ve just wired the tacho up in my 110 diesel and it’s now showing revs. Funnily the previous owner had totally bodged the install so it’s never worked.
Question: how many pulses per revolution does the stock alternator put out on a 12J 2.5NA? I need to set up the tacho to give the right reading now.
