it is - but that couple of grand will be a better investment becuase from what i can see a CSW holds its value alot better than a hardtop.

i guess im a bit stubborn, but i do prefer a CSW, and from the usage point of view i do think it would be more worthwhile. just means i will have to fork out a little more

i surrender

Is it difficult to change the bodies on a defender yourself?

Yes. It needs new outriggers, Centre floor section, door pillars etc. The complete station wagon bodies come up occasionaly on ebay. I looked at changing my 300tdi hardtop into a csw but decided it wasn't really viable.

I had a v8 csw and sold that to get my 300tdi. (I couldn't afford the csw so got a van). I regretted not getting a csw the whole time i had the van. Now I have another csw it is much more practical but I do miss the extra load space.

well pricey just got a 1990 90 for £1200 taxed n tested needs doors swapping tho and ive got a 200 tdi ready to go in

i am hopefully collecting a very nice 110 CSW on friday, with 300tdi engine - so will get some pics up as and when i have it.

thanks for all the help guys its much appreciated
