hello

i have got a p reg p38 its done about 130,000 miles and i think the steering is becoming more vague i don't use it day to day its my weekend car so its hard for me to tell.

any idea what i can look for....
i have checked the PAS fluid and its full and there no leaks at all...

Thanks

Or try looking at Tyre Pressures...if you on 18's they need to be just so to prevent wandering...

Next look at the associated ball joints and links...the play in the steering box and also the steering dapmer for security and correct operation!

That can cause wandering issues, the P38 although came standard with 18's was never really suited to anything other than the 16's

If you're running 19's play with tyre pressures a bit as this helps on 18's, but wont get as good as the 16's

A good check of the ball joints wouldnt go amiss either!

They can be seriously bad on anything bigger than 18" if there is any wear in the steering or bushes. Try dropping the rear tyre pressures to the same as the fronts as an easy job, otherwise drag link ends, track rod ends, steering damper as already mentioned plus bushes ball joints etc.

I think the concensus was the same as 18", 28 front 34 rear. I run 18" and unloaded it's much better with 28 all round. It's quite critical on the P38.
