Im just repeating what the MOT tester told me.

If the vehicle is presented running on LPG it requires no emissions testing, no reading with the gas analyser.

The fact is that even with the cats removed it will still pass an emissions test on LPG.

What will happen if you take it in and 'your' tester has pulled a sickie ?

Will the other guy pass it ?

Incorrect. I doubt it will pass a cat test with cats removed, but it would pass a non cat test ( which it would be tested on if it were a pre cat classic )

Ok thanks guys seems I found a very unique place to take it for an MOT. Glad I posted this, apologies for being misinformed!

New plan now to keep the cats, chop them just after and attach with a couple of flexi pipes to this custom 2nd hand stainless system I’ve bought.

They are threaded. Easiest way to sort is remove the manifold(s) and do it with manifold in bench vice. Lots of heat, lubricate, heat, lubricate, and eventually they will move with mole-grips. If they snapped flush with manifold then you're gonna be drilling, or finding replacement manifolds.

Does anyone know if the studs at the manifold to downpipe join are pressed in or reverse threaded? 2 of the 6 snapped and I need to get them out.

For next time ...
Use lots of GT85 or whatever penetrating fluid is your fav, drown the bastids everyday for a week .... then start the job ...

I've never snapped one yet !! ..... :D

I think mine are welded all of them. I hope there threaded though. Two are ruined it'll make drilling them easier.

Ok nice one big fan of plusgas, luckily it’s just one bank and 2 broken studs with some meat left on them, surprisingly similar to that image. Looks like I’ll have to take the manifold off then

Got that to look forward to as well! Does anyone know what socket I need to remove the manifold bolts, part no ERR4961.

They are a spline head pattern I’ve not seen before.

Cheers
