v8 cutting out just after starting

Hi guys, I am having a problem with my 1995 3.9i v8. When I first start it in the morning it starts fine then after a few mins/short trip it will cut out. If i switch it off and leave it a couple of mins it will then start fine and be fine for the rest of the day. It doesn't seem to be temp related as after restarting it runs nice hot or cold. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
