Ok she will start fine from cold but once she has warmed up I need to push the accelerator down most of the way to get her to start she will turn over just not fire up. It was suggested by a friend that it could be throttle position sensor also read it could be a temp sensor. I also wonder is it something to do with the lpg kit that has been disconnected. What easy checks can I start with?

Cheers one more wee question. Is it the green one or the black one? Looks a nice easy change so only 6-7 hours swearing bleeding and threating the car with the crusher then lol

What does the ECU temp sensor do? I have an ongoing cold start propblem on mine (4.0) and am looking for some kind of temp sensor to replace which won't let it start below 5 deg!

Oddly, mine does that occasionally. Until recently, it only seems to do at the garage that I use for LPG. I also found (by accident) that disconnecting the air intake from the air filter box for 10-20 seconds and reconnecting resulted in starting at first turn of the key - even when I'd been trying for 10 minutes! I changed the air filter to no effect, but probably due another change now.

Tells the engine ECU what temp the engine is for start and run timing and fuel settings. A basic first port of call if you are having cold or hot start problems.

Makes sense. Im trying not to get too excited that this may be the cause of my problem. Where do I find it and do you know what the official name for it is so that I can look it up in RAVE?

Thanks Wammers

I have fixed my hot start problem it was a snapped wire in the black temp sensor plug so that's replaced for one from the breakers. Even better my mpg has improved so I'm happy, next problem here I come.
