V3 with newer engine

Hi all,
I'm newish to the forum and forgive me if this has been discussed.
I've been looking at series landrovers and have noticed a lot have had engines swopped out. The ones where I have seen the V5, have not declared the change.
Does notifying the DVLA change the historical status of the vehicle?
I understand it would lessen the historical standing of the vehicle and potentially the value, any help would be appreciated.

Nope makes sfa difference, which is why no one really bothers.
Most will be like for like, some will be other land rover engines (200tdi for example) in place of the original, again makes no difference to historic status.

If it is historic you can just change the details on V5 and send back no need for an engineers report nowadays.
Very few series Landrovers will have there original engine.
