Hi there
So read all the advice thanks
The only issue I have is if I use a payen 750 gasket which I have original, can I used the new high tensile 10.9 bolts with the new 135’ angle on stage 4 (3x90’ 1x45’) or do I definately (now there’s a word not often used here) need to change the oil rail.
Spotted sone leaking plastic inlet manifold which may explain all sorts.
F1 2006 16v
63000 mileage
Changed water pump already
Should I take a look as I’ve got this far?
Just the bolt thing holding me up
Got both gaskets. MLS and elastomer.
Check liners etc…
Thanks all
Very useful.

You use the highest grade bolts regardless of the elastomer or MLS gasket, following the correct torque spec for them.
The choice of gasket depends entirely on the height of the liners. There's loads of information about it on here, and other places. Best follow the LR guidelines reference which gasket to use, but I can't find my copy of the guidelines just now.

Thanks for your input
I’ve ordered a payen head gasket old stiock so I’m waiting to see if it’s real before taking the head off.
So far I’ve discovered a few issues with the plastic intake manifold and I’m thinking this s the reason for water issues leaking , air in, etc.
There’s 10.9 bolts already fitted so I’m presuming it’s been upgraded before.
Only got 63000 on clock so seems unlikely to have failed already.
Flying along when going
Just water everywhere.
Jiggle valve removed by a ham fisted fool in the past has damaged the plastic and caused the issue.
Should I stop and re assemble or go for it with a genuine head gasket.
Thanks for your help.

If it has 10.9 bolts, then it sounds like it's already been upgraded, as the factory bolts were 9.8 grade.

That inlet manifold needs replacing, as it's too damaged to ever seal correctly. I always fancied fitting a VVC intake manifold to mine, but sold the vehicle before I got round to it. I've still got the VVC manifold, waiting to go to a new home, if I ever get a chance to stick it on ebay.

Yeah it buggered by human not wear and tear.
Let me know if you sell the vvc I might indulge if the vehicle keeps going without the doors falling off or something 😂 for now it’s clean all this up and try to seal it with new gasket, I’ve also ordered some wedge washers as this could help the plastic sit flatter.
You ever done this?
Thanks again
