Username changes

As most of you will have noticed there have been a few user name changes recently. To be honest changing user names is something that i tried to avoid from day 1 because i'm pretty sure that in doing so i'm making a rod for my own back. Doing it for one may well just open the flood gates buy hey ho, one rule for all as they say.
So those who have requested user name changes, I will try to get them done today ( i'm GMT +8 hrs at the mo though) Either way there are going to have to be some boundaries, anyone who has made a genuine mistake signing up, then fine i will change them no problem, but long term members are going to have to have a note in there title saying who they formally were. Changing the name of a regular poster could well cause confusion so a few months stating who you used to be seems a fair compromise to me.

Let me know what you think

The thing is, I had to open this account seeing as Tweets was banned.

If I open another account then it means starting from scratch. Then again I am a useless **** and probably have never offered any advice of any real worth.

Going to me ****in' Chariot as I'd like to be up before 6pm today. :)

special

Mods on here are feckin useless. Have yu pm'd accywingy?

Pm'd twice, emailed and asked Sirus and Ratty to mention it which i'm content they have, but it seems Accy is oblivious to it all :(

I created a nice shiny calender for the site anorl, thought a simple name change wouldn't be too much to ask :p:D

can we change beast of bodmin to COCK - we could have a democratic vote on it if you like.

Before anyone gets the wrong idea, i'm not into complaining, love the site and the peeps on it, just got abit peeved with no reply to a small request.

It's a large site, and the mods job ain't easy, I'm a mod of a large music forum and sometimes you feel it's a crap job to volunteer for, but someone has to do it to keep it going.

Typical oppression of the ordinary member by the corrupt, ruling class

WHAT DO WE WANT?............erm.........free and fair.......um.....name changes.......?

I know what you mean. I used to own/manage a vBulletin forum with 22k members and over a million posts. Small compared to this, but still quite a significant task to manage. We had a much bigger team though, more admins and far more mods.

In some ways, it amazes at how this site keeps going strong even with such a small staff team. In our case, we had to spend a lot of money on advertising and had to run and organise many promotional events and all of that required a huge team effort. Our members expected and required a level of customer service that was second to none. Our target audience consisted of teenagers, which meant that we had to enforce stringent moderation standards. All of which took a lot of time and effort. That said, it wasn't all perfect. There's a reason I no longer do that. :p

I like Landyzone's non-commercial approach that it has taken but I do think there's room for improvement. Recruiting a few more dedicated and active staff would surely be of benefit to the site as a whole. + I still want that name change!

I volunteer to be Mod2, gimmee a big red button- that chiprat and pierus better watch out- and then......total world domination.....aaaahaaahhhaaaahaaahhaaaaaa!! (demented evil villain lafffin):der::crazy::dizzy:
