L322 URGENT - Help disable the alarm!

Hi

I cannot lock the car without the alarm going off a few minutes later and, being that its 1.35am and all my neighbours are now awake, I desperately need to know how to disable it, so I can lock it go to bed.

Its a 2003 L322 4.4 petrol Vogue if that helps.

Bit late but can't you shut the door and lock it with the key?
I only know how to disable the interior protection and that is press the button to lock it and again within 10 seconds
 
Wrapping a few T-shirts around the sounder helps to muffle the row a bit ...

but other than that I cannot help ...
 
Every time I tried locking it last night the alarm went off after a few minutes, even just using the key in the lock. In the end, I had to leave it unlocked, but luckily I have a couple of wheel clamps which fit and I can lock a bollard at the front of my drive, so it was impossible to steal without waking my neighbors up again. From what I've read on other forums, the bonnet sensor button can sometimes fail and that often sets off the alarm, so that will be the first thing I replace when troubleshooting.
 
Update time...

I simply unplugged the bonnet sensor button and no alarm woes since! I'll get another one ordered and see if that fixes it permanently, but otherwise I'll just leave it as is.

My 2010 L322 alarm goes off every afternoon as soon as it gets warm, I also had a 'bonnet open' alert the other day for no reason so I suspect it's that sensor. I've attached this pic, is that the sensor, tried to disconnect but it's very fiddly, is it easy to do?

That looks like the one, have you tried bending the bracket ... it usually gets bent when working on the vehicle ... then as the bonnet heats in the sun it lifts away from the sensor setting off the alarm ...
 
Had a spurious alarm problem on my Freelander 2. Yes, not the same as the OP's, but here's what I found.
One of the rear doors didn't lock when I pressed the key fob. Give it a few minutes to half an hour and the alarm would go off.
Temporary fix was to lock that door manually before exiting the car and locking everything else as per normal.
 
Same problem on mine . Tried locking with key , still went off after half an hour . Unplugged bonnet switch , has been fine for a couple of hours now ... fingers crossed. Thank you for all who have posted , you ve saved my sanity !!
 
I know I'm late on this one, but when I got my 2007 L322 Sc a couple years ago I had the same problem. I knew the pressure on the switch was the problem because when locked with the alarm set if I pushed/shoved around on the closed bonnet it would always set it off. I think if bending the bracket upward works it's more elegant than my solution, but I just wadded up a piece of paper towel and duct-taped it to the underside of my bonnet in the right place so it makes a padded bulge to press down on the switch. 24 months and still holding :)
