I'm restoring a 1989 130 and have just installed new windscreen wiper wheelboxes and drive cog for the cable. Looking at pictures of other wheelboxes I installed them with the cable on top. When I put new wiper arms on in the bottom parked position they would only clean the bonnet! They would have park in the vertical position to work.

Am I missing something here or do I just need to turn the wheelboxes up the other way to get the wiper arms to work correctly. I'm not sure however if there is room for the cable tube that way.

Do people have their drive cable on the top or bottom of their wiper wheelboxes??

My video of fitting the cable and wheelboxes

Looks like the wiper park ramp (fits on the wiper motor gear) in in the wrong position.
Swap it over to the other position on the gear.
It fits into two predrilled holes, you will see them when you have it disassembled.
Reposition the wiper arms when you have done the ramp and you should be good to go.

don’t think the OP has repaired the wiper motor.

Thanks. Yes I replaced the drive cog, the old one has missing teeth. I didn't know there was a specific position for it but that makes perfect sense now.

Hooray the wipers are working correctly now! Thanks Tim 4x4, it was the park ramp as you suggested. Who'd have thought that Craddocks would send me a Left Hand Drive windscreen wiper motor drive cog??!!!

Happy it working for you.
Lesson here always "check". Check everything you can when fitting new parts usually saves some time and frustration.
