Hi,

I've got a Discovery 2 switch panel in my Defender with heated screen and heated seats wired to it.

Is there a way to go from the original 7 wire hazard switch to this 3 wire one from the discovery? I've attached pictures.

I understand from schematics that the BCU in a Disco 2 handles the hazard flash when the switch completes the earth circuit.

The only way I can see it working is replacing the function of the existing hazard switch with a relay and getting the Disco switch the bring on the relay & hazard/flasher relay.

Has anyone had any expirence of this? Maybe in a Disco 1 to Disco 2 interior upgrade? Not sure what hazard a disco 1 has?

Thanks

totally different system involving a BCU unit and IDM unit controlling relays for left and right indicators and the switch uses a ground signal to the BCM
could you get a YUG000180LNF View attachment 208310 switch and AFU3731 plug and remove old plug and reconnect to new plug

Thanks for the reply,

I was looking into that but ideally want it to fit in the 6way switch panel out of a disco 2. , if it's not possible or not practical I will either keep the existing.

I will look into that switch and mobilecentre stuff. Is there a single bezel/switch holder for it?

Thanks

I make an adaptor harness to replace either the early Defender or TD5/Puma Defender hazard switch with a D2 hazard switch.

It uses 3 x relays to replicate the functionality of the Defender's hazard switch -

I can also supply a modified D2 switch with an extra LED, so that it flashes with the hazard warning lights -

Hazard lights flashing (3mm LED constant, 5mm LED flashing with hazard lights) photographed during a 'flash' -

PM me for details.
