hello all
so if you recall i bought a lifelong ambition, a military 109. What have i done since?
1 - both front footwells sanded back to metal, applied a couple of coats of hammerite then applied some waterproof invisible glue. again 2 coats. I did this because, as we all know, when it rains outside, it also rains inside thorugh the doors, hopefully if i get any more puddles inside, at least the floor is protected.
2 - I fixed the indicators! woo hoo...the offending article was teh flashing unit. 33quids from ebay did the trick. and i am so delighted on how easy things are with this. mostly a few screws and bolts away.
3 - i have replaced the passenger door seal.i ran out of daylight to do the drivers side. i also (rightly or wrongly) put some clear sealant at the top corners as it seems to leak from there. i am now hoping for some rain to see if i get any leaks on teh passenger side. then the plan is to do the same on the drivers side.
4 - As there is no cigarette lighter, i took it upon myself to install a dual USB charger with an on/off switch. Seems to work OK.

to do:
1- replacing the speedo cable. i am still waiting for craddocks to send them. i have to say, not overly impressed with the speed of things. almost 10 days and the order is still being processed. GRRRR..
2 - buy self adhesive soundproofing and plaster it inside and sort out the back. remove the tatty carpet, give it a proper clean and decide what i am going to do with it. i know this is likely to cause up some stir, as its really not with innkeeping, but i want to treat the floor fully, soundproof it, then install nice oak T&G floor. not decided yet.
3 - many other thousands of things, but the above two are my shot terms things to do....

on 1st Jan '25, i will be able to apply for MOT and TAX exemption. Is this a painful or a pain-free process? I am siting down.....hit me with it. will they ask for one last MOT?

here is Daisy, once again....

The tax exemption will apply from 1st April 2025 if the vehicle was built before 1st Jan 1985. You will have to take the logbook to a Post Office to be sent off for the tax class to be changed.

The MOT exemption applies from the day after the vehicle turns 40 years old.

They don't ask for a final MOT. You will simply need to fill in a copy of form V112 which can be found online. The form is only two pages long.

Been to two post offices in last week to get mine tax exempt , both said they can’t find historic tax on the screen, after about 5mins exasperated I said I know why it’s not working ….. it’s because the post office computer systems are not very good😀, so this afternoon sent the forms off to DVLA
I think a V10 went too along with V5 and V112
