What can cause drastically uneven wear on front tyres of my Defender?

I have BFG MT's, the outside edge has 10mm+ and the inside is under 5mm.

So there is over 5mm over difference between the inner and outter edges.

What can cause this.

I notice my wheel bearings seemed a little loose so i stripped both sides down and nipped them up. Would loose bearings be enough to cause such a difference in tread depth?

Toe really out? Try checking your tracking.

bushes really worn / bent axle?

Ok, Is there an easy way to check tracking without going to garage?

Hopefully Axle isnt bent havnt done anything stupid recently to cause that!!

Bushes all seem ok, Bearings could probably do with replacing but I don't think that could causes such difference in wear.

Most places will check tracking FOC and only charge if adjustment is required.
I have been using Just Tyres for years and find them excellent. Apart from a single adjustment right at the begining of my ownership (14-years ago) it has only had to be adjusted after maintenance has been carried out (TRE replacement etc) and steering & tyre wear are spot on.
