Hello All,

I am new to this forum and new to Landrovers. We bought our first LR which is a D4 2010 3ltr. So far it has been great. Recently it started giving intermittent suspension error. 3 problems I can see now -
1. When I press the increase height button it automatically goes to extended height mode. No error code.
2. Getting intermittent suspension error, upon diagnosing found error code C1A13-64. I have erased all codes and haven't got anything yet.
3. The corner heights are different. I am using a odb2 scanner to get live data. I am not on a completely flat surface thought. I have no idea what negative height means, and the height keeps changing too.

Anyone has experienced this kind of issue before ? Is this normal ? Do I need a suspension calibration ?

hi

welcome to the asylum, lol

indeed those figures are all over the place

when the suspension is calibrated ur have a zero reading then either side of that ur get a minus or a plus, all depends how the discovery is sitting , indeed best to take the readings again on a flat surface

plus did u have ur steering wheel set dead straight when u have those readings as that is also worth checking to ensure whilst the wheel is dead straight the data readings should be zero

lastly what diagnostics are u using plse , additionally ensure with the engine off to test ur battery voltage , low battery readings can cause u told errors

if it keeps going into extended mode that can either be a height sensor error , calibration required if a steering wheel angle sensor fault , please re check it on a flat area to see what the readings , including steering wheel when it’s set dead straight

hope that helps

Almost forgot , on level ground and in normal ride height , plse check the measurements from the centre of ur wheel to the bottom of ur wheel arch , should be around

front 466 mm
Rears 485 mm

hope that’s useful

As the 2 posts above, check your battery, and do so properly - search on here - make sure your alternator is up to snuff too - very complex electronics do not like varying voltages..

You can buy a proper battery tester like the Topdon BT50 for ~£50 - worth it all day long IMHO. :)

And, tell us which diagnostic you are using, because some of them are known to be complete liars when it comes to LR stuff

hi mate

indeed a plus 1 ref diagnostics , that Autel ap200 is becoming very popular due to it working well on the D3 , basic but with it being able to program keys is worth it with just that facility seeing some dealers are asking just under £300 for a new key when I done mine for less than £60

also as u say with regards to the alternator , seen many get thrown out when they see 14.5 Vdc + being produced from these alternators , limited to around 16vdc , plus seen some making the big mistake of not fitting genuine denso alternators , consequently then seeing there dashboard light up like a Xmas tree , lol
