Undiscovered rust area

Has anyone come acoss this area of rot before?? I can only think this must have been reversed through seawater to manage to get this bit rotten as its nomally tucked behind the bumper out of harms way. Of course it could have been a Land Rover Corrosion Development department factory experement to introduce new areas of corrosion.

its common, i think they are powder coated and rust quickly as so as surface cracks

Thats the " steering protection bar ", and, yes, it is very common to rot like that !.

took mine off when i put a g4 type winch mount on ...

Ah I did wonder what it was for, I'll probably repair it to keep the bumper firm.

Get a new one off ebay £20 inc postage.think is just to stop bottom of bumper flappin about.

TWENTY WHOLE POUNDS? I got a piece of tube for £2.50 and I get to practise my welding, does it get any better???????????????????????????????
