unavailable parts :mad: any help appreciated

iv got about 14 degrees slop in the drive spindle under me cav pump ( 10j 3brg 2.25 diesel N/A lump )

ive been on the fone to me usual supplier and ive been told that the drive gear and shim it sits in under the fuel dist pump is an unavailable part

ive not stripped the bugger out of the block yet but i cant help thinking theres gotta be someone out there that knows where i can get one of these things or knows how to take the slop out of it by order of adjustment or something

any answers greatly recieved and noted as im totally dumbfounded with this now

all this effort money and parts and now this

you have 2 parts stubby shaft and skew gear skew gear comes as an assembly ,gear wears and so do cam teeth,i may have one

if its only the shim or the collar it sits in i will but if its that friggin helicoil gear on the little shaft with the female spline inside it im well and truely fooked as thats a job for a dedicated gear cutting machine and i aint forking out £9 - £12 grand fer one of them buggers and theyre induction hardened to boot

theres gotta be someone out there that knows where to get one of these buggers from .................i have total faith in this goldmine of knowledge that is the loonyzone

how de yer mean an assembly just the skew gear and stubby shaft or does that include the split collar that the skew gear sits into

wich ever way how much do yer want for whatever you got

skew gear comes complete with bronze bush etc stubby shaft between pump and skew is seperate,does skew lift up/down?

yes it does by about err......well ......the thickness of a cigarette butt ...errmm roughly 8 mm but turns a little as it lifts ( on the gear teeth )

hi i removed a 3br diesel from my lr a couple of weeks ago, it ran ok if you need some parts you can have them for the postage costs if it helps you out, cheers michael

theres a grub screw behind oil filter head ,it screws in to stop it lifting not so far that it jams

A quick google brings up Reconditioning and spare parts for Diesel Fuel Pumps, Injectors, Governors, Lift Pumps - Peter Slater Fuel Injection Engineers Not landy parts but diesel specialists. Worth a try?
