That will be a lot more difficult than fixing it yourself.

Good point. The only reason to use LR over OEM parts is for that guarantee - so good time to call in that warranty. Hope you have the documentation, rather than the word from the seller's mouth!

Another good point. If this has been leaking post or prior to sale (why was it laid up!) there is a very good chance the K Series engine, HG and/or head is toast. If these are OK, you still have a windscreen to fix and various other bits but hopefully just fix them and get on with driving it.

Guy lost his job his at risk of loosing his house aswell couldnt afford to run it

The HDC light might just be the throttle cable is too tight at the throttle body. It needs to be stupid slack or the HDC will come on almost immediately you start driving. Will only take two minutes to adjust.
Good luck with sorting the water leak but listen to the guys saying not to drive it. It will overheat very quickly and trash the head gasket and probably the head too.

thank you im gonna ask the aa to tow to a garage today

Morning,

I take ti you have home in your AA package, if not then check what it will cost. If you are going to pay for the AA to transport then it may be cheaper to either get a mobile mechanic to come and have a look to start with, or get the garage you are going to use to come and collect it. Did you find a good garage locally who were suggested for FL work?

Cheers

£237 for a water pump?
Jeeesus wept, is it gold plated or what? The only way that is justified is if they replace the timing belt and tensioner at the same time and even then it's extortionate.
BTW get the timing belt and tensioner replaced too if they're doing the water pump. Silly nonsense not to as they need to take the timing belt off to change the water pump and it needs replaced every 60k miles or 5-6 years anyway.

Yeh it was a mobile mechanic but its been done now total cost 160 odd and he also done a temp repair on heater matrix pipes the rubber fecks at back so need those... needs a good thrashing now its not leacking to get rid of the shudder as its been sat for to long

Good to hear it's sorted and once again a loss of water wasn't the head gasket. Many harbingers of doom love to tell you the HG ALWAYS fails.
Yes they do go way more than on any other engine I know of, but often the cause is neglect by the owner not sorting a normal water leak like you had.
BTW the water pump wasn't fitted properly if it failed so quickly so that was the garages fault.

Freelander 1 was used on G4 in 2002 as well so is available - Dunsfold have a 2002 G4 car in their collection

Also Tangiers Orange was available on one of the Limited Editions - Kalahari I believe along with the yellow
