Well I am now forced to sell my Classic as that lovely man Mr Kahn has decided to extend the zone from August the 23rd next year.
I have owned this Classic for 25 years and will miss him badly.:(

How old is the vehicle?

If it is nearly 40 years old, and only occasional use, you could just pay the £12.50 when you do use it, and Historic Reg when it reaches 40 years, and will be exempt.

It is 1989 so another 7 years to go. I would not want to see it rust away on my drive for that time.

With all the cost of living and everything else going up i can not for the life of me see how he can justify adding more expense to households, apart from the fact he needs the money to pay for other things, i live just outside the zone and have a van and two cars that are now worth nothing and the price of stuff that is complaint has gone through the roof:(
my p38`s days may well be limited

I'm very sorry to hear of your situation, having to replace any decent old car because of this carbon bull...t is bad enough, but a Classic
Hopefully though you will achieve a decent price to help ease the pain a little.
I've had my '87 Vogue for over 14 years & with the cost-of-living spiralling ever upwards it may have to go next year, but at least that decision is mine to make & not forced upon me.
I feel for you.

I was dreading the zone being expanded when I lived in Hounslow. Luckily I moved before the zone was expanded to include it. It seems daft because the amount of non compliant cars was miniscule. The difference it'll make is virtually nill. But the impact on people on low incomes is catastrophic. Over 4k a year. There is no justification for it at all.

I have only owned my lovely 2007 Disco 3 for 5 years but also will need to get rid of it despite being a car I love and worked my fingers to the bone to clear the finance on it.
The way things are going it will not be worth working for a living if the politicians and jumped up civil servants pandering to the self righteous green groups are going to dictate what we do with our money.

Let us also not forget that in addition to the zone being expanded next year, the daily charge will almost certainly increase as well.

I don't think cars over 40 years old are exempt, just put this Jags reg in the ULEZ calculator and it says you have to pay even though its a '73 plate.

Have you registered it as a historic vehicle?

Our 1964 Series comes up OK on the checker. So does my mate's vintage car.

If you have registered it as historic, but recently, give it a while to come through, and if it doesn't, give them a ring and hassle them.
