Thanks all for info on glow plugs, ok now.My defender 90 has got off road tyres at the mo, they are Goodyear Wrangler 33x12.5 or 15lt, they stick out over the wheel arch, and are monsters!
I'd like to change them, as i don't do any off roading, my question is....what size tyres should i be looking for?
I want them for normal road use.
Also, does anyone know, how much i im likely to have to pay for them? and how much would i be able to sell these ones for, their only 6 months old, but their just not for me.
Many thanks in advance
Jeff

Tyres are a very personal thing and what might be right for one may be totally incorrect for another.
If you don't do any off-roading then you need a road biased tyre or at most an AT otherwise you are just going to loose grip & wear for no reason. The biggest tyre LR fit as standard or as an option is 265/75x16, these fill the arches very well and put a nice lot of rubber onto the tarmac. My personal preference is BFG AT's, I think they come in at around £120(ish) a corner but grip very well and will last upwards of 60K miles (I have done 37K miles on mine and they are still barely half worn). I have heard from people who have owned them that the BFG lookalike remolds don't grip as well and only cover a fraction of the mileage that the real things do (between 15-20K has been mentioned), haven't got any personal experience of them myself but that is what I have heard.

Thanks Litch, some good info there, i'll have a look around for some prices
