Now that got your attention

I'm looking for some feedback on maxxis creepy crawler tyres, what are they like on the road? How do they wear? Good bits and bad bits?

Going to get new tyres and it's a big investment so any feedback to make my choice of tyre would be great.

Tyres on the list so far are :-

Maxxis creepy crawlers
Maxxis trepador

I will be having 35" or 37" and would be using as daily driver ( only a mile to work ) and traveling for laning and P&P sites, prob do around 5k a year in total, so I'm after the impossible a good ( ok ) road tyre and a good offroad tyre lol I know I've got to compromise as can't have both, at present have two sets one for each, but don't have the room to store a set all the time and it's a pain changing them over all the time, cheers in advance Tim

Not had either of them tyres but heard the Creepies are awful on the road and in mud. Meant for rocks as far as I am aware. Trepadors are better as an all rounder. There is the road version and the comp version. Currently, the Trepador comp is the most popular off road tyre for the professional (such as Ultra4 spec). However they will set you back at £425 for a 37" each and they probably will wear very quickly on road as they have a soft compund. The road version is much cheaper but don't really know much about them.

My choices for a 37" tyre on a vehicle that is also used on the road would be:

Simex Extreme (or Fedima but they're remoulds) - wont be great on the road but will be off it - bar a tractor tyre, I doubt there's anything better in the mud

BFG Mud - all rounder

Cooper Discoverer STT - all rounder

I'm sure if you wanted more info on the Trepador tere will be lots if you use Google........:search:

Don't expect your bearings or other axle components to last very long with big tyres unless you upgrade them £££££

I've googled all the info I could get about these tyres but wanted to see if anyone on here had any experience with them, as for simex they are a bit hard to get hold of, I run special tracks at the moment and know how good they are offroad, and believe me I've lots of £££££'s invested in the axles and running gear already so it's time for larger tyres.
The creepy's are out of the running as are not 'E' marked so not legal on uk roads, they are dot approved for the USA but not here, cheers for your thoughts

I just bought 4 Cooper Discoverer STT, and they seem pretty good on road, haven't gotten them dirty yet but they do have some deep cleats on the side wall though and have a reasonable tread for mud, they are still classified as all terrains, even though they look more like mud terrains.

They are mud terrain, though not extreme the st is all terrain and st-MAXX is a hybrid between the two of them, I've got the st-MAXX as laning and street tyre and special tracks as p&p extreme at the mo, both in 285/75 16 flavour, I'm after a bit more diff clearance and something I don't have to swap ( and store ) so a compromise really

and I currently have 37x13.50x15 mudzillas and they've performed better than all of the above

Have looked at them, what size do they come in at as most don't measure up to stated size? I need 16's though

mine measure just a tad under 37

the fedima sciroccos I had that were 35/10.50/16 measured 36.5" tall but they are remoulds

I know they made them in a 16 but can't find any for sale anywhere, I'll keep looking

I quite fancy them, I can find 35's but not the 37's in a 16

Just found some at paddocks

£190 a piece

I do believe I might see your tyres this weekend
