I bet this one has been done to death, but even so i am sure there is wealth of opinion and expertise outhere ready to assist me.
I need a couple of tyres on the DS2, they are 255/55R18 on Comet rims. The vehicle is 90% road use so mug pluggers are not appropriate really. As the SD2 is hardly a performance vehicle longevity and cost is the main decider so budget tyres could fit the bill.
Any recommendations?

OK let's be clear.
I have a Land Rover Discovery Series 2 2003 in silver and I am interested to know members views on what general purpose tyres they would fit for everyday use
)

I recommend Gripmax AT on a budget, Maxxis 771 bit more then Grabber AT3 top end.
Its a 4x4 so if your putting road biased tyres on, why have a 4x4? The Maxxis are a good compromise and are fine on road and in snow. They went well in pretty foul snowy conditions for me and were quiet on the road.

Just given mine 4 new shoes?
I was originally looking at General! But was recommended "Maxxis AT's"!!

Glad for the recommendation
Whilst working, had to park on a very very muddy field to get to site! At the end of the day! Had to help pull out a SWB Van and 17 seater mini bus who had got axle deep stuck in the mud!!!
Maxxis AT was a very good choice, no slipping from them, sounds quite on the roads (not on the section from jct 10 M25 to jct 14 M25 o_O) (but rest of journey was good :)).

There was me thinking it was a discovery sport.
Grabber at3 seem fine but i start getting a bit of noise at 70. Good excuse to go slower and save on the fuel bill
