Did a 400 mile run today on the new Scorpion Zeros - was delighted with the performance, smooth, quiet, no tramlining. Highly recommended!!
Hi All,
Looking for a vote/general guidance on what tyres to fit to my 2002 Vogue SE P38a.
Currently has 255/55/18v Scorpion Zero's fitted. Was advised that the Scorpion ST was the original fitment.
Have been reading many posts and spoken to a few dealers who have made the following recomendation as mainly Road use and wanting to limit 'tram lining' whilst keeping comfort.
- SCORPION ZERO 255/60/18v
Michelin Latitude Tour HP - 255/60/18v
- CROSS CONTACT UHP 255/60/18v
GENERAL GRABBER AT - 255/60/18
Advise please, or am i best to keep the 255/55/18 size... as all come in that size.
Please advise.
i have goodyear wrangler f1 s 255/50/19 on 1 of my p38s they are ****e tramline everywhere crapI have Goodyear Wranglers on 18" rims (hurricans?) I have not experienced any problems with them. Runs well on the road, tramlines less than a Porsche 944S on 50 profiles (not mine!) Good enough to pull the caravan out of the mud and wet grass, so maybe I'm just lucky.
I have found that it really MAKES NO DIFFERENCE what "Make" of tyres you use.
The last lot I got were made by some "Never Heard of" company ..Way out East..... On digging deeper I find that this "Never Heard of" company is actually a subsiduary of Pirelli.
In other words these tyres were made by the SAME people on the SAME machines & Quality checked by the SAME guys from Pirelli that would be checking/making the Scorpion range FOR PIRELLI
I have a friend at Charlie Browns in Sheffield, he is the manager. He has told me, that the cheap, never heard of tyres are to wear out much faster and have lot less grip.
Must never compromise money for your safety. I think.
The big companies do own a lot of never heard of tyre makers, but they will not going to make the same quality and sell it for less..
Hangy Wangy Province is near Skratch My Minge and they do indeed use peanuts as a unit of currency. I used wikipedia.
Made by some poor old chinese bloke whos only allowed 1 Kid & get 5 Peanuts & a bowl of rice a week
Both are made by SAME bloke on SAME machine using SAME materials & Checked by the SAME QC guy
One man makes all reebok trainers...!! I beg to differ...surely its a bitch?
