Hello,

I just became an owner of my first RR, which happens to be the Sport 2005/6 one. She came with 275/40/R20 wheels and road tyres (tyres, T_Y_R_E_S, silly american auto correct) and I find them too harsh... It seems that she has never left the city roads. I will be looking at switching them to something like 235/65R17 or the 255/55R18 for a number of reasons:

1. Roads in the UK are crap, so the extra padding goes a looooong way for the suspension parts etc.
2. Ride comfort
3. Will like to take her down green lanes and maybe further, so chunkier and all terrain tyres will more suitable for the job.

Questions, please:
1. What size do you have on your RRS?
2. What tyres do you use/recommend (or to stay away from)?
3. Where do you tend to shop for tyres and parts in general? (I am doing some work on her and need to order parts (bushes, arms etc.)).

There are usual suspects for shopping, but thought to check if there are better/preferred places for the L320.

Many thanks!

Depending on what spec your l320 is smaller may not fitt, my mates one has the brembo calipers and 20" wheels he might just about manage to get 19`s on but 18 or 17`s not a chance
look in the hand book to se what options they had for wheels.

1: I drive a FFRR , so can't advise on sizes . However, this* website seems show a few options. Sadly they don't know how to spell tyre ;)
2: As above. I use Goodyear Wranglers on my FFRR. No complaints so far.
3: It depends what you are after at the time. Better off doing quick search on specifics, when you come to need them.
4: Don't suppose the places that come up in a search will make a big difference being mainly for FFRR. They are likely to still be the usual suspects, and supply L320

Hope this helps. Have fun with her :)

@brianp38dse & @gold rover hello again and thanks for the reply :)

It does have brembo calipers at the front, it is a SC. I did check the sticker inside the door and it had the sizes I quoted above, but, checking gold rovers link they would not fit  I saw some videos on the good old YT where some SC had smaller rims and chunkier tyres, i guess they changed the front calipers and the car sticker is more general.. Thanks!

Well of this helps I ha e just recently fitted 19" wheels with 255/55r19 goodyear wranglers to the range in place of the 28/35r22 tyres and rims.

Comfort has barely budged. In fact quite possibly there is no discernable change. I was hoping for an improvement. Looks like the 22" will go back on now.
