Tyre sizes and wheel locks

Guys . Well 2 weeks into my ownership. .
Still a happy chap .
Question . I only noticed today that the rear tyres are a different size to the front .
235 55 17 on the back
225 55 17 on the front

The spare is 225 55 17

Is this normal. ???
Also the spare Tyre has a wheel lock on it and I don't have the key/socket .
Picture attached . Is this a standard wheel lock or will I have to cut it off

225/55 17 is the original size.

235/55 17 is the size I use.

There is no problem with either size - but you can't run a mix.

You will over heat the rear diff, put extra strain on the VCU and the IRD.

I drove only 5 miles home after I had the big tyres fitted to the rear, and even that short distance made the oil so hot that i could smell it.

Get another 2 tyres asap or you will definitely cause very expensive damage.

The locking nut in your pic is the standard LR lock-nut - you should have one of them on every wheel, including the spare.

If you haven't got the removal socket - they are not expensive and easily obtained from any LR dealer.

After a proper search . I have found the wheel lock hidden in the car .
One less bit of stress lol
Will just one size wider at the rear really effect it that much

Yes it will cause expensive damage to the IRD and rear diff.
225-55-17 are 679mm in diameter
235-55-17 are 690mm diameter
11mm is a lot for the VCU and it will stiffen up.
I'd get em changed now!!
Ether increase the front to match the back and then put the new tyres on the back or, reduce the 2 rear tyres to match the other 3 on the vehicle but always put the new tyres on the back.
If the tyres you take off have more than 3 mm of tread? don't pay the disposal fee at the tyre fitters and take the tyres home. You can ether keep them just in case you will use them later on or sell them on ebay as they can make a surprising amount on there
But whatever you do do it quick
