i've got 235/85/16 greenway machos (fantastic) and a 2 inch lift. i still had to cut the rear arches and adjust the end stops as much as possible aswell as welding on a large nut on said end stops to stop the tyres rubbing. acceleration isn't as good and as for the road holding, its ****e now, scary even  but who gives a flying **** about road holding? i didn't get a rr to hound around corners in. thats what i've got a capri for! actually i dinny know which is scarier :D

lets be honest, who did get a rr to fly round corners!! you could hardly say it handled on rails to begin with!! The reason I started the thread was i've seen a crackin wheel and tyre deal and as mine are all but done I thought about buying them, there 33/12.50/15 on white 7 spokes, I'm sure I could make them fit with enough body lift and arch grinding, but am i just fulfilling my childhood fantasy of having a monster truck?!!

to late!! the order was made this afternoon, no turning back now. need to do some measuring first and then some cutting and then some more cutting. then I can work out the level of lift i need in the body. plus i'm trying to find some arch extensions. any idea anyone?

I'm going to do a photo album of the work, start to finish. First things first is to work out the body lift required, I need to work out the amount of suspension travel the classic has and lift it by this amout minus the amount I cut out of the arches. I'm going to steer away from a lift kit as they have a knock on effect on other components, castor arms, dislocation cones and so on. where the body lift is less costly and I like the standard ride as is.

So if anyone knows the suspension travel then give a shout. Is it in the haynes?

Got wheels and tyres today, large would be a good word to use to decribe them, some modifying to do yet, body lift etc but will post pictures soon as possible.
