Ive just done a google search on this subject as i wanted to know the same thing, People have said the handbook and stickers in the doors ect only apply to the type of tyres the car originally came with so useless in this case.

I couldnt find a definative answer the range i found went from low 30's up to 45 psi

Obviously also depends if your on the road or off most of the time.

p.s. Most do suggest a higher pressure in the back, I have run mine at 36psi all round but i think im going to try the rear at 40psi and see how it goes because it does feel soft at the moment

cheers guys i have just done them at 30 psi in the front and 40 psi in the rear.

My hand book states the following.

Tyre pressures
Loading condition Pressure - bar (lbf/in
2 )
Normal operating conditions Front 1.9 (28)
Rear 2.6 (38)
Vehicle loaded to maximum gross vehicle
weight
Front 1.9 (28)
Rear 3.2 (46)

So it's 28 psi front 38 rear.

Surely that should be the other way round jiginc? (more weight, higher pressure)

What do you guys do off tarmac then? I guess most leave them alone but I'm pretty sure they should be a fair bit lower for mud, sand and snow?

Hi Dont want to hijack your thread but I have a similar question. I have a td5 with tyres 295/40 zr 20, does anyone know what correct tyre pressure should be.
Thanks

Alan

Those of above, the recommended pressure has too little to do with the size/type of tyres.........the vehicle's weight is more important
