Hope you've budgeted for a lift kit if you don't already have one 285/85 is a fair bit bigger than 7.50r16

Hi, I have 235 X 85 X 16 which work well. I bought a set of steel rims from Paddocks. The rims slightly position the tyres out which make them look wider or if they have a small wheel spacer. The advantage is you can ajust the steering lock which gives you a better turning circule which is needed on a Defender as they are not that good. The disadvantage is mud and water gets thrown up from the wheels onto the body work. I would send you a picture of mine but I can't work out how to send it on here. I don't find this site very user friendly or logical.

Have put my summer tyres on (the ones on the right!) A bit bumpy though although great for going up stairs.
