whats the advantage of having a single policy ?
all of mine are with the same company but i get seperate certs for each one

i think most companies can insure you to drive any vehicle with owners premission but its fooking expensive. which means they don't like doing it so yer better orf doing each one seperate, that way if yer a bit tight you can space them out, 6 months apart. or 4months or whatever depending on how many yer got

They won't put 2 cars on one policy, its a policy per car... however if you go with the same company they may offer you a discount, and also because you will be putting down the fact you have access to another car on both of the policys then it will reduce your fees.

Thas why insurance is stoopid I have access to five vehicles. I cant drive them all at the same time so why is my insurance so high??? Might have to look in to the is pay as yer go stuff

cos it can still get stolen if yer not driving it, it can still burst into flames if yer not driving it and it can get damaged by a hit and run **** or a **** wiff no insurance.. and they can put more than one car on a policy.. how do you think dealers do it?..

I recently renewed my insurance and was offerred classic insurance for the landy which doesn't use yer no claims 'which leaves yer NCD to be used on another vehicle.

If you are insuring more than one ordinary car, then churchill for one offer a deal, at least they did. However if one of the cars is valid for classic/low mileage/specialist landrover, etc cover then it still works out cheaper to do it individually

hi there ive got a 2 car policy for my 1994 defender csw and a skoda 1.9 octavia
only one company does it and it is admiral and you save a fortune
fully comp two people me and the wife shes fully comp for the landy and skoda and vice versa was under £400.00

Dealers and garages etc have block insurance, covers all and any car they have in for work or sale. All employees are covered to drive any vehicle and any prospective buyer is also covered to drive vehicles with garages permission. They do it this way otherwise they'd be constantly phoning the insurance company to add / remove persons and vehicles. We have block insurance on the farm all our family cars and 4x4's are covered, works out a hell of a lot cheaper than individual policies, a lot less paperwork too!!!

trade policy, now only 895 TPFT, insures any car in my possession as TPFT and my own cars regardless of how many i have are on the policy permanently
I am with admiral for my 98 300TDI 90 hardtop and my 57 plate Citroen C1.
When i first went with them they mirrored my no claims bonus for my second car(great saving) and they give me a discount for having the two cars with them, I also have business use on the 2 of them and my landy is modfifed

My other car is insured with Admiral for about £500, so I contacted them to ask about adding the Defender on. They quoted me another £500, including mirrored NCB. Lancaster quoted me about £250 with no NCB, so the two car policy didn't work for me in this case.
I suppose my advice would be don't assume that it'll be cheaper to insure both cars on the same policy, especially if one of them is a Land Rover. Talk to the specialists like Lancaster first.
