I made an apointment with Turner Diagnostics and unfortunately I was not able to make it as my wife was taken seriously ill.
I did notify them of the position I was in and was told it was ok to arrive at 10 am instead of 8 am
I received a hostile abusive telephone call from Eric Turner the morning of the appointment and was told to p---s off.
Obviously not very nice people steer clear is my advice

Assume you have a Land Rover of some description? Not quite the right start if you ask me..
FWIW Google reviews are iffy. Hope the wife is fully recovered.

Hi Smiffy,

No explanation why you were told you **** off?

Also, hope your wife is okay
Because I had missed my appointment, however I did notify them the day before indicating that I would be late the person I spoke to said that that would be OK, then I received the very rude and hostile phone call from Eric Turner, I am always polite and considerate of others, my wife has raised a lot of money for Help for Heroes and has caught an infection doing so,it was upsetting to be spoken to in that manner
My wife is undergoing tests and hopefully will be ok thankyou

I am a repeat customer at Turners, and have spent around £1000 with them in the last couple of years. But truly awful experience on Friday. Booked in for Disco3 sensor fault (again) and was told by Elliot to bring car in Friday morning. Got there at 10.00 after 35 mile drive, with my wife in other car to take me home. Parked my Disco. Older man said what are you doing parked there? Very very hostile and unfriendly. I said dropping car off. He said "you've missed your appointment". I said I was told to bring it in the morning. He said, "the appointment was 9.00, you've missed it". I said I wasn't told that there was a time (and on previous appointments I have not been given a time) and he said again "you've missed it, and we can't slot you in". I told him I was a repeat customer and he said he didn't care, he wasn't going to do the work.

I said that was not good customer service, and bad for his reputation and he threatened me that he would make sure that no Land Rover dealer would service my car again. Staggering! Probably the worst customer experience I've ever had, total and utter waste of time (3hrs round trip almost) and petrol. Avoid - like the plague. I mean it, avoid Turner Diagnostics. The old guy needs to retire now, clearly completely past it and has lost the plot. His son, Elliot, who I have dealt with before always really good in the past - hope can salvage the business from this. Business suicide - perhaps related to Gerald Ratner!

Firstly - for anyone confused, Turners Diagnostics and Turner Engineering are very different companies, and this thread is nothing whatsoever to do with Turner Engineering, who are a class act.

I had an almost identical experience with Turners Diagnostics about two years ago. I had bought my D2 with an Alive map and, as they were (then) an Alive sub-contractor, I wanted to have the map analysed as I was far from impressed by the performance and wanted to see if a remap would make a difference. I arranged to bring it to them on a Tuesday morning (no time set). I set off pretty early and got there just before 0900, to be met by an irritable old man who told me I should have been there at 0800. When I pointed out that no time had been agreed he told me to feck off and never come back. So I did. I notice that they do not mention Alive on their website any more.
I complained to Alive, who apologised and arranged for me to visit them in Lincolnshire. However, whilst they seemed helpful, I ended up paying for a lot of very poor advice, which cost me even more to follow, and knowing what I have subsequently learnt about LRs, I have no intention of going back there either.
If anyone is interested, they told me that the lack of performance was due to a worn turbo. My Hawkeye was suggesting the the MAF throughput was fine and there was no obvious wear, but in deference to their advice I bought and fitted a hybrid CHRA. No change to performance or airflow figures, but searching on here I found what MAP reading I should be seeing and mine was far too low. The air was obviously going somewhere and it turned out the silicon hose from the intercooler to the inlet manifold was slightly too short and had come off. Longer hose fitted and power restored. - Yes I know I should have spotted that long before, but it was my first TD5 and I had a lot to learn.
I had just had a V8 torque converter fitted and there was a transmission thunk on slowing to a stop. They diagnosed a dying rear diff - even suggesting I might not make it home. I bought a replacement, swapped them over and had the old one tested - absolutely fine. The thunk went away when I forced the autobox to relearn the adaptations (which I should have done as soon as I had the TC swapped), now smooth as silk, and with power restored, a joy to drive. Paying for and following Alive's advice cost me around £850 and in itself would have achieved nothing; if I knew then what I know now (mainly thanks to this site), I could have fixed my problem for the cost of a new bespoke silicon pipe - £45.

Can you confirm the bad company name, with their location, so we're clear of who they are and where they operate from.

They never answered my email regarding upgrade chips for my P38. If you can't take 1 minute to say something I will not do business with you. The website still talks about upgrading 4.6 engine ECU for the P38 but when you go to their list of Range Rover ECUs you don't see it. Not very helpful.

“No job is too big or too small and most of the time we are able to offer a same day auto electrical service”

Problem with trusting people over the phone at their word (not that that’s usually a problem most are decent)
Try to get someone that books you in with a confirmation email or something, if they do drop you for more expensive job that just turned up you then have proof that they broke an agreement at your time & expense. I would feel ripped off.

Well I do feel that I've had my time wasted, and spent a load of money on petrol for no reason. And I still have a Disco that needs fixing. I asked for an email confirmation, but was told they didn't do that... Lesson learnt.
