Turbo Vent Filter

There's only one filter in the TD4 vacuum system. It's sole purpose is to keep debris out of the atmospheric side turbo vane actuator. It's nothing to do with the EGR system. The EGR vacuum actuator has an atomistic port, on the atmospheric side of its diaphragm. It's a simple hole, as that is all that's needed. The EGR diaphragm is stainless steel, so more resilient than the turbo actuator's composite material.

The filter is not connected to the atmospheric side of the turbo vane actuator only to the vacuum chamber. It stops debris being drawn into the vacuum source when modulation is taking place and prevents debris being drawn into the actuators vacuum chamber when vacuum is lowered or stopped and the vacuum chamber fills with air. To me atmospheric side, is the side to which vacuum is not being applied, if that makes things clearer..
