Turbo supplier

Hi,

I have just been told that the turbo on my disco 2 has gone. Can anyone recommend a replacement supplier?

Got mine (melett £150) from ace turbo 01279-817451 bishops Stortford tho had no problems the reviews are pretty damming then again most people review when they have something to complain about.

Thanks for your replies. My mechanic has said that they could cost around £500. Looking on the world wide web, I can see £500-£1000 but also £150-200. Am I going to get caught out with a cheaper supplier or can anyone, as well as Mr Glee, recommend a cheaper supplier.

When I replced the one on my td5 it was second hand off of ebay, 50 quid if my memory serves me correctly.

When I thought the turbo was basically on my 300 I bought a head and turbo from someone whos bottom end had gone.

Turns out the turbo wasn't my issue, but I'm still driving around on the 2nd hand one years later as there was no point in me changing back again.

At least I have a known good spare (my original unit) now.

My point is that a 2nd hand unit from a crash write off / etc may be just as reliable as a, possibly suspect, rebuild.
