Hello Yokels.
What a fun time I've had. When I bought my Freelander TD4 2002 last March, I noticed I had an issue with exhaust fumes seeping through the airvents when stopped and switched on. So out of an need to have the problem sorting and funds being tight I thought I will get this done on a quiet period. And so the fun began when I booked my wagon in for what I thought was a busted exhaust gasket NOPE:mad::(. when the garage found the problem it turned out the previous owner botched the Turbo stud bolts which sheared.:eek::eek::eek:
Big job and very expensive 200 POUND lighter:mad: Now all sorted and clean air coming through the vents.
The garage was fair with me so I will publish their name. ANA Tyres and Exhaust Oldham Rd Failsworth
Well Done.

I am surprised you have not suffered from carbon monoxide poisoning at that rate did you have any head aches feeling sick on a long journey?

Lucky enough when I noticed the problem only occurred when stopping or parked I switched off or used the air recirculator route. But your query is valid though as it might explain why I was driving in full diver gear:D:p. I DONT RECOMMEND LEAVING THIS PROBLEM TO LONG.
