Commonrail engines are reacting differently to those boxes... i strongly recommend to not fit such thing on a EUI/PD engine(like the Td5 is)... i've had one on mine long time ago when i didnt know too much about Td5s(it was an expensive one from a reliable company)... after about 1 year of usage i had to replace the injectors and the head cos i've got a crack in it so i removed it... I refitted it just for a short test out of curiosity with a standard(untuned) ECU a while ago, the engine ran well and good throtle response, no excessive smoke but the EGT was up in the sky(up to 900 uphill)... i rest my case
thks really good to know
when i first had my disco , going down the motorway , up a hill and lost a lot of power, nursed it home and found the map sensor was blocked solid , cleaned it out and resolved the issues
bought the egr blank kit that i've still got to fit
believe that 28 mpg round town and 38 mpg is about right from other reports
however mine has now dropped to around 10mpg around town , no faults on the iid reader ,
assume the egr needs the blank to be done , as we all know how coked up they can become
don't know what u think of these injector readings plse
think personally i need to get it on the motorway for a long run , getting everything up to temperature , as the short 5 mile town runs can't be much good
i've got the tdv6 2.7 litre engine
think if i got 25mpg round town and 35mpg on a run would be happy
thks for the heads up ref the tuning box, think i will leave it, considering this engine is so different compared to the td4 and understand u know u what's what regarding engines etc
have had the engine fully serviced, am getting all the timing belts etc replaced in the new year
will then strip and check all my brakes, all the wheels are cool as i first thought about them binding
it will reverse easily on rickover so don't think anything is holding the disco back
also been messing around with my suspension , think i need to recalibrate it,
three pics, of the suspension heights are
access
normal
off road
think the access should be minus 50mm normal zero and off road plus 50mm but got to check the figures
really appreciate the heads up and many thks
