Hi all,

Got a decent disco 2, td5 2003 recently, several of the seals / boots have gone so we’re working on replacing them. Currently working on getting the front LH suspension arm ball joints replaced, been able to break the upper joint but the lower one seems impossibly stuck! Tried getting it out with the pickle forks and heat which worked on the upper but the lower won’t budge. Short of cutting it off, anyone got any tips or tricks for getting it out? Gone through the tutorials online and they’re all saying it should come off with a bit of force.

Thank you, the nut is off and we’ve tried breaking the taper by hitting it but unfortunately that’s not worked either, we’ve tried the 25mm nuckle fork, tried using two hammers with one working as an anvil and tried heating it but it’s still not budging!

9 inch grinder with a cutting disc, just cut it off, then remove the stubs and the remains of the ball joints
