Yer Alan we just strap the wheels when we load the new range rovers we don’t touch transport mode the new cars are in transport mode but it’s different from what the the bloke has posted all new cars come into the country in transport mode we can’t even drop the suspension to get the height down
So you don't use these anymore?

I had to use a rear tow eye on a long gone now XJ40 to move an old Espase which was full of the rotten EType body. It ripped off the body, it was welded to the spare wheel indent of the boot. Neither use nor ornament.

Confirmation today that hat the car is in Transportation Mode.
Gap iid reads “BPM Body Processor v4 0xB4 Body Control Unit in Transportation Mode“
I can clear other faults, but this remains. Any help much appreciated.
Cheers

Well blow me over with a feather:eek:.
Does Gap not give any function in that module to switch off?
Have you looked in the others? Suspension maybe. Have you got the Gap manual because it only seems to have 1 paragraph about transport mode and it seems to be in the EAS section.

From the manual I have.

"Transport Mode (L322-02) and Build Mode (All except L322-02)

This routine will activate or deactivate the Transport/Build Mode of the air suspension.
Usage
Use this routine when the suspension needs to be deactivated for maintenance purposes.
Note: This function may cause error messages to appear on the instrument cluster display. It may also
affect other vehicle systems. Upon exiting, the error will disappear. Use the same function to reactivate
the air suspension. L322-02 Use this routine to transport the vehicle. The suspension will be locked at
a defined height but not disabled."

Who actually put it in, or is it a glitch we all need to be looking out for:confused:.

Please let us know what you find. Cos I havent seen in on ours as an available function ( must admit not really used in anger for the EAS).

Thanks guys. Sure is a bit of a mystery at present, but I will get to the bottom of it and keep you all updated. Probably won't be able to look at it again until the weekend though.
Cheers

Ur so welcome , always a team effort mate and also is so nice when people appreciate the help, ur be surprised when some don’t bother

indeed please let us know if that works by going on ur gap iid into “ service test “ , then “ body control “ I’m pretty sure that’s correct where u can turn off ur transport mode and return it to fully working order state

well that’s the theory anyway, lol

oh blimey, ur going to torment us till the weekend , that’s just mean, snigger

look forward to see what u find mate

Weird. I wonder how she managed to do that. o_O Good that you've worked it out :)
Hope your Dad is improving

Update: Been in touch with Gap and they have given advice which I've followed but still no joy.
In service/test mode I can access the bcm and see that Transportation mode can be activated and deactivated. Select Deactivate and confirm, Gap tool says standard mode now active, so one would assume that all will be OK, but no, reads faults again and Transportation Mode still active
Back to Gap, and they suggest trying to deactivate it by using the suspension setting on the bcm. Same process, gap tool confirms mode is now standard, but again fault code says Transportation Mode is still active.
I've not yet got back to Gap to see if they can suggest anything else, but will do. In the meantime I have booked car into Worldwide LR here in Southport for later this month in case I've not been able to resolve. Just a bit frustrating to say the least. But hey ho, could be worse.
I'd love to know if anyone else had such issues and how it was resolved?
Dad at least is home now, but requires 24 hr care, so plenty to keep us occupied
To be continued...
Cheers all

hi

this may sound daft but on the D3 is has a connector near the fuse box, it’s a transportation connector and a device is plugged into it , wonder if it may be the same for urs as in if somethings plugged in which won’t allow it to come back out of the setting unless it’s unplugged ??

just a thought and indeed Plse let us know how u get on

hope that helps plus hope u won’t need a becm replacement

ps, good to see ur dad is back home
