Transfer Box

After priceing up genuine bit's from lrseries to fix my leaking (front & rear flange) LT230 transfer box on my 110 tdi am wondering if it's worth it as they aint cheap and the box whines a bit in 4th and 5th!!

I might have the possibility of a T/F box off a 200tdi disco.

My question is will the high/low box lever line up with the existing hole??

its ok.its the g,box thats different on a defender.trannys fine.

May have to drill and tap a couple of holes to mount your Hand brake tho

it will gear your vehicle up, which might be something you want, it might not.

putting a disco tranny box on a depender is one of the best "upgrades" you can do

it wouldn't work very well with my 2.5na!

I can't even say that it's all torque, no action. It hasn't even got any torque to start with, and to have even less would be a disaster!

i know 3 people who's 90s i look after have that same engine, another has a 2.25 petrol 90 with a disco box, they'll never pull a house down but they've all said they'd wished they'd done it ages ago

Sean you reckon it would be worth me keeping the transfer box from my donor disco to put in the 110 along with the tdi then?

I think it would impair my towing ability, and towing is already a bit painful!

Just have to upgrade the engine first

It does a lot of things including long stretches on the motorway, so with a disco b/t I might be able to hear the radio
