Hi can anyone recommend a type of pump to use to refill transfer box and gearbox I've tried several cheap things but had a nightmare trying to get the fluids back in .. Cheers

I've tried 2 different versions based on a 500ml syringe.

With the first one I fill it manually ie by removing the top and filling up by hand, then replace the top and squirt it in.

Oil Suction Gun

The 2nd one has a non-return valve built in and 2 pipes. This allows you to suck the fluid out of the can, then squirt it into the car.

Heavy-Duty Dual Transfer Pump

The 2nd one should be better but honestly I find it's not due to the effort required to suck the fuel up.

Has anyone got an opinion on the garden sprayer type pumps? I've got one on order as it was suggested on here somewhere that they were good for filling the gearbox (auto, in my case).

I tried one once with both atf and EP oils. The atf seems to be ok-ish but the EP oil just seemed to be too thick.

I'm sure this would eat the job, but at over £100 takes a bit of justifying unless you're using it every day:

What about a pump on a cordless drill? When I worked for a Massey dealership I used it to fill the back end up

Cheers guys bought a grease gun shape oil transfer pump but diff oil was too thick to go through .like a right tit I didn't try it first and had drained the box down before I realised this .duh .... Will be a wee bit more prepared before I takle the gearbox oil .. Many thanks

Bought one of these from Halfords the weekend, bit of a work out on the muscles but it was ideal, although it only holds about 1 lt.

I use an old hand priming bulb and hose for outboard engines. Which I had lying around among my boat bits. Does the job perfectly albeit taking a bit of time....5 mins or so. Obv make sure if you can get one that its well flushed with oil first to remove any traces of fuel if its used. Even new ones can be bought relatively cheap.
