hi all .
have a problem with transferbox have been told its the chain slipping ?? is thisa big job to change it ?? thanks for any info

First to remove the transfer box is a big job
Second to open up the transfer box remove the gubbins replace the chain and any other worn parts is a big job
So the answer is YES
Have a day out at Ashcrofts and let them fit one of their recon units for you.

Unless you have a lift or muscles like Rambo, it's a pain to change the box lying on your back.
I'd go along with Discool, Ashcrofts are excellent and their fitting costs are very good, even lend you a car whilst the box is fitted which takes about 3hours. Advantage is that the recon box is just that-fully checked and rebuilt. Nothing worse than buying a chain, stripping the box and finding bearings or other bits knackered and it's usually late on Saturday or Sunday. Plus there's a guarantee from them.
