Made my ground anchor tonight

Gusset

Just got to test it tomorrow and then find somewhere to mount it :doh:

Done some wire tidying. Fitted the winch sails and sorted a few other little bits tonight

The beadlocks arrive tomorrow ''Finally'' so I can fit them to rims and fit the tyres. Then just gotta sort mudguards and storage and interior bits and shes done

Right sorry again for the slow updates but ive been working on this thing non stop ..

So I picked up a set of beadlocks that I had made

And set to getting them all welded on

Then it was time for tyre fitting and centreing (takes an age ... )

So once that was sorted and I fiannally got them all to seal its was time for fitting and then some mudguards were required ...

So here is the end product

MEAN !!!!!

And best of all it has FULL lock with no rubbing even with 35x12.5 tyres

I love D2 axles

Then we just had to load up the trailer and get ready. But time has escaped us. I meant to be there today so we had plenty of time to set up and sort out issues but we notnow have to leave early in the morning, but no big deal

Off to the welsh

Are the inner beadlocks threaded or are you using Nyloc nuts? 4mm plate laser cut? Where from? Look cool.

And did you use tyre sealant, if not what?

No im using nyloc nuts as theres less risk of damaging the rim if you cross thread plus easier to line up

I jad a local company laser them for me

No not using sealant they seal on the beads fine when they sut right. Had to re weld abit of 1 rim though as it was leaking even with my good welding. Couldnt see a crack or hole or anything but still leaked

Nice, what I thought. You know the trick of tightening a ratchet strap round the circumference of the tyre on first pump up to try and seal them straight away, then drop it off to pump it up properly, I presume ..

Used to do it with split rims and things when racing ..

Wonderful work Jimbo, hats off to you and no doubt your old man!

I definitely won't be welding my own beadlocks

Currently working on a few jetskis to get some funds together, me and my co-driver are rustling a plan for 37" creepies on the disco with no more lift, just tubbing

Probably gonna have to make it a 3 door for it to be feasible

They stand 35.5" tall which is a lot better than true 37" in disco terms

Any idea what those 35s stand at?

Prologue is done Damage so far :

Light bar broke off (fixed)

Radiator came loose (almost fixed)

Bent track rod (mmeh be right)

Air line came off diff (easy fix)

Absolutely mental, cars have ripped engine out over rocks, bent radius arms rolled and jim marsden has lost 1st gear ...
