Question on suspension geometry, I saw a truck in a Aus 4x4 mag the other day where the front radius arm had been flipped ontop of the axle to help keep it kore level after a suspension lift and it seems like a good idea to me, my question is how would this effect antidive characteristics if at all, obviously the castor would have to be reset but thats easy enough anyway it seems like a good way to get around bush binding at the chassis end which is common on a lift and helps put tye radius arms out of the way.

Thoughts ?

Personally I don't think it would change anything at all geometry wise!
The only benefit I can see would be a tiny bit of ground clearance.
The only thing would be caster like you say, but that can be sorted in a few different ways.

From what I understand about antidive it shouldnt matter unless I change the radius arm length.

The benefit I see is theres no need for castor correction arms so you can keep standard arms just set the castor where you like. Just wondering what the chassis clearance to radius arm would be like ?

Something different eigh

You may have to modify your bulkhead outriggers and your bumpstops would need relocating but I can't see why it can't be done.

The only problem I can see (with no knowledge of suspension geometry) is that you are more likely to damage the propshaft because it will be lower than the radius arms.

The arms sit outside the chassis rails so wont need any modifying.

Tis a good point, but it would only raise them an inch or 2 over standard

Not worried about the prop it'll still be higher than the radius arms.

It's only a angle change at the chassis end so not too worried about the outriggers catching, id have to have a look though

Interested in doing it :D

I was thinking that the top of the radius arm may hit the underside of the bulkhead outrigger on full bump travel. Can't remember how much clearance there is as standard but it would be easy enough to modify the outrigger if required. :)

Either way it would definitely be worth a shot, please have a go 200tdiayre!

Yeah this is something ive considered ill have to have a look and see what it looks like at full bump :)

Tonights progress

From this ..

To this :D

Started her first turn of the key after 9 months standing :D not bad :D

Topped up with water and got that circulating again. And started to make a lost of jobs.

So far ive got:
New rad (allisport or similar)
Fix kick down cable.
Sort out plumbing neaten up etc
Build interior
MOT :D

Then its time to start playing :D

Just spent about an hour and half reading this.. well looking at pics at least!! you've spent some time on this mate! Ive had to post so i can get updates when you post! well done mate.

Cheers mate always nice to have subscribers :D just hope I can create subscribable content :p

And spend too much money :(

Yeh when people say they are money pits, they are not lying... I guess its how far you want to go with it.. Someone needs to start up a land rover rehab clinic, I would deffo have to sign up for help!
