I think they call it an axle twister so us Freelanderers don't have a go. We int got proper oft roaders after all.

Fair play I'd think twice before trying that in me tratter......

But only cause me pig would get tipped orf 'er seat :D

Nothing wrong with traction control so long as it's working

i love all the gaylanderer's telling us how good there vehicles are, yet ive never seen one at any pay and play site other than the manufactured courses at shows, which makes me think there crap,

Would it have been smoother in an auto? He stalled it several times.
I think so yes. Auto Freelanders are easier to drive oft road as you don't have to slip the clutch if moving slowly or wanting to edge forward slowly. It's easier in an auto to apply power and build it up to move forward until you need to brake as the car turns on the next twist. Would be easier if we had a low ratio as you can feed in the engine power and keep the revs up but move even slower forward. Manuals can overheat the clutch oft road when slipping the clutch.

Driving off road in an auto is definitely easier. A while back I went on a gentle off-road run with other Yeti and all the manuals were stalled on a regular basis. My Yeti had the DSG gearbox, which is great for economy as an auto, but for fine control a good old slush box like ours is much better. The DSG is almost on/off for small movements forwards and backwards. Reversing up an incline is a right royal pain in the whatsit in a DSG.
