I did mine with with fishing wire, two axle stands and a ruler. 1.5 mm toe in.

I believe any rear axle can be adjusted with shimming if the rear is crabbing. Never bothered myself so not sure how it’s done.

I bought a track ace to do mine meself when having problems with the rear wheels needing aligned and i couldn't find a garage to do them other than main dealers.

That looks a neat system and indeed not very expensive , daft question , will it do just the toe in/out, or the camber as well plse

Many thks

So , after treating the D2 to a set of new front tyres, I thought I may as well get the tracking checked and if necessary done.

Had tyres done at Halfords, they said that their kit was not good and suggested another place. I rang around and ended up at another national tyre centre.

Told them it was a D2, they suggested 4 wheel check, I explained I only wanted the front doing;).

When they drove it in the workshop one of the others piped up, We do not do them as they always come back because they have a steering box and adjusting them is really difficult. When they did them in the past they kept being brought back. Not sure what they were doing in the past.

I took a deep breath , kept calm and asked them to check anyway..... and it was within tolerance. 2 Years ago I did it with 2 pieces of 10mm studding and an adjustable sleeve.

Cheers

Hi mate

Don’t know how useful this is to u but recently had all my alignment done, they also adjusted the back, alas don’t know how the D2 & D3 compare

Cost £90 for everything to be done using this Hunter 4 x wheel alignment system

Interesting website. Proves there's not many about who can do all 4 wheels. Or not many registered at least. I have the same result sheet from the main dealer some years ago over ere:

What I like to do is wait until it's raining and roads are nice and slippery. Then bomb down the road and at the appropriate moment yank on the handbrake and give it full lock. The car drifts into the curb stones at pace and knocks the wheels straight, repeat for the other side.

It only does sideways movement. So only toe. Yer need something like this for camber. Don't know if it's any good. Seen them before. Never used one. Cheaper version of the one that clamps on the wheel.

Many thks :D

Funny enough I used a digital angle finder when I refitted my new wishbone and got the camber very close as it only needed a small adjustment , can see the before and after with the alignment sheet above

Pic of something similar I used

Used a company called topmarks tyres in hooley Surrey , certainally an expensive bit of kit

Some companies were telling me I had to put my suspension into tight tolerance and they didn’t have the software to do that , the company in hooley advised me the hunter system works it all out

Was impressed watching all being done
