Towing a caravan

I have towed loads of different trailers/caravans, all good advice up there ^^^.
One thing I would say - your max speed downhill should be the same as your max speed up it, and always use engine braking on longer decents.
The Al-CO stabiliser, is that the one with little friction pads that grip the towing ball ? if so everything needs to be totally grease free, so get used to wiping your knob before every use.:D

The advice about slowing down gently to get out of a weave is spot on. I towed a twin axle trailer full of manure with my series 3 some years back that was loaded by someone else with a tractor. They put much of the weight over the axles and towards the back and it weaved badly over 30mph. It was the worst experience I’ve had in 28 years of driving! The loss of control was sudden and the only way to get out of it was by slowing down gently. It was a definite learning point and caused some buttock clenching!

Thank you yes it's a great little unit, the 110 barely noticed it was on the back.

A little more noise from the engine going up hills, but it maintained 60mph at all times, plus we had a fair bit of wind towing home but it made no difference, the outfit was rock steady.

All looking good!
After a while, especially on Mways, you'll forget you have it on the back if you aren't careful!
Although it'll have overrun brakes you should be able to reverse it no problem as the system is designed to cope with it.
Take it to an open space and put 4 cones or summat out, round a space just a bit bigger than the van, then try reversing into it from all angles. You'll soon get used to it. But the littler they are the quicker they go wrong!

Don't worry, that is all it takes!:):):)
If you don't practice then you'll never be any good. Some folks i used to go diving with, never tried so simply didn't do.. I'd sit and watch them unhitch and man handle the medium sized 'van into place, it was hard work! Yet in an open field, they never had to be even slightly accurate in reversing the caravan.
No, i never offered to help because the never tried. They were amazed that i could put the dive boat where i wanted with my 2A.. it wasn't difficult
